The Art of Active Listening
Many workplace conversations happen without anyone feeling fully heard. People prepare their response while others are still speaking, rush to offer solutions, or assume they already understand the problem. The result is missed information, repeated misunderstandings, and relationships weakened by frustration. Listening well requires more than staying quiet; it means paying attention to what is said, noticing what remains unclear, and checking understanding before deciding how to respond.
The Art of Active Listening helps participants make listening a deliberate and practical workplace skill. Through focused exercises and guided conversation practice, participants explore how to ask useful questions, paraphrase without distorting meaning, recognise emotional cues, and respond with empathy while maintaining professional boundaries. They practise replacing assumptions with curiosity and clarifying expectations before taking action, helping everyday conversations become a stronger foundation for trust, collaboration, and customer understanding.
Planning your programme
Can the programme be customised?
Yes. We begin with a discussion of your business priorities and capability gaps, then adapt examples, exercises and case discussions to your team’s context. The final scope is agreed in your proposal.
How many people can attend?
Share your expected participant count and their roles when you enquire. We will recommend a group size and facilitation approach suited to the activities and learning objectives, and confirm these in the proposal.
Where will the training take place?
Tell us your preferred location and whether you have a training room. Venue, equipment, delivery format and any associated costs are agreed before booking.
How do I request an outline or proposal?
Use “Request course outline” on this page. The enquiry form will include the programme name. Add your participant count, preferred dates and the workplace challenge you want the training to address.
Is HRD Corp funding automatic?
No. Eligibility depends on the employer, the registered programme, grant approval and the applicable HRD Corp requirements. Confirm the specific programme and grant conditions before booking; claimable does not guarantee approval or reimbursement.
Check the current HRD Corp Claimable Courses requirements before confirming your training arrangements.
